The South Asian University’s Sports Fest 2023, organized by the Sports Committee (2022-2023), was held from March 25th to April 4th on the university premises, marking its return after a hiatus of three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The display of sportsmanship by the participating students was truly admirable. The event featured an array of sports such as Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis, Cricket, Volleyball, Football, Long Jump, Running events including 200m and 400m, and Tug of War. Both individual and group events were held, providing a platform for students to showcase their abilities and compete with their peers.

Sports is not merely about winning, but also about enduring the pain of losing and using it as a source of motivation to strive for success in the future. Participation in sports has a significant impact on the mental and physical health of students, providing them with a much-needed break from their daily routines. Overall, the South Asian University’s Sports Fest 2023 was a resounding success, promoting sportsmanship, healthy competition, and camaraderie among students.

A Prize Distribution Ceremony was held on 1 June 2023 to felicitate the sportspersons, coordinators and volunteers. The prizes were given away by Prof. Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Acting President, Prof. Senthil Kumar Venugopal, Acting Vice President, Dr. Navneet Jha, Associate Dean, Students and Dr. Bijoy Chand Chatterjee, Hostel Warden.
