Jamia Millia Islamia and South Asian University become academic partners, sign MoU

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) and South Asian University (SAU) today signed an MoU for a long
term academic collaboration and partnership between the two institutions. The MoU was signed
by Prof. Talat Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor, JMI and Dr. Kavita A. Sharma, President, SAU on
behalf of their respective universities.

This MoU will enable the partnering institutions to collaborate for innovations in education,
interdisciplinary studies besides facilitating student and faculty exchange.

Further, it will enable research collaborations and joint conferences, seminars and workshops and
academic cooperation and sharing of academic data, intellectual property and publications.
This MoU envisages promoting liberal human consciousness, quality leadership and
enhancement of capacity building through collaboration in the region. Besides the academic
objectives, this MoU will provide opportunities for capacity building of South Asian nations in
Science, Technology and other areas of higher learning. It will also contribute to increasing
knowledge about the rich cultural heritage of the region through research and promotion of
works of literature, folklore, performing arts, fine arts, classical literature and also traditional
knowledge systems as also dissemination of the same.
