T. M. Vasuprada (PhD, 2020), alumna of Faculty of Economics, has recently joined the UNICEF Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (UNICEF MGIEP), New Delhi, as the National Data and Quantitative Research Policy Officer.
Ph.D. Students from the Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, (Khagendra Ghimeray Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Md. Ismail, Umesh Prasad Sah Hathi, Md. Ebrahim Khalil, Amrendra Kumar Sah, Nazmir Binta Alam, and Shirani Punniyamoorthi) attended a 2-Day Science-20 conference under the G-20 Presidency of India which was held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, from June 16th -17th, 2023. The theme of the conference was “Connecting Science to Society and Culture”. The meeting was presided over by Professor Ashutosh Sharma, President of the Indian National Science Academy. A total of 80 delegates, including 25 international participants, from the nine G20 member countries, invited states, and international organizations participated in the meeting. Various topics like science and technology for education and skill, law and governance, and heritage and culture were discussed in two sessions on day one. It also deliberated on frontier technologies, and a significant discussion was focused on the understanding of the impact of Artificial Intelligence. The main objective of the S20 engagement was to provide policymakers with science-driven recommendations based on consensus. The second day began with a nature walk at Van Vihar early in the morning. Then G-20 representatives visited the Tribal Museum and Sanchi Stupa in the evening.
Mr Vivek Pandey, PhD student from Cancer Biology Laboratory., Faculty of Life Science and Biotechnology received Travel Grant from SERB, Government of India for attending EACR annual congress 2023, Italy (12 June 2023 to 15 June 2023).
Ms Nidhi Dhama, PhD student from the Protein Science Laboratory, Faculty of Life Sciences and Biotechnology presented a poster on “Demonstration and Characterization of Scfv Antibodies Generated from the Fubc Immunized Mice” in the 14th AFOB Regional Symposium (ARS 2023) organized in Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad, India from April 27th to 29th, 2023. She has also received the BEST POSTER AWARD for this presentation.
