A visit to the permanent campus of the South Asian University for the students, faculty and staff was organised on 2 March 2019 that saw enthusiastic participation. The visitors were addressed by Dr. Kavita Sharma, President SAU, and were given a presentation on the on-going
constructions and were shown around the campus.
Incidentally, the National Safety Council of India (NSCI) recently awarded the Shreshtha Suraksha Puraska (Second Level Award under Group A, the Silver Trophy and Certificate) to the South Asian University on 27 February 2019 for playing remarkable and crucial role in setting safety and health requirements in the contract documents and closely monitoring and implementing effective safety systems and procedures in the construction of its permanent campus (Package III), being constructed at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi. The same award was also conferred to Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Pvt. Ltd., the construction company who has been handling the construction of the project for demonstrating outstanding performance in occupational safety an dhealth during the construction.
